Town bank & upkeep

Fund your town and check taxes before you settle.

Your town bank

  • Your personal money and the town bank are separate. Use /town to review your town, then /town deposit <amount> to contribute money.
  • Claims and daily upkeep draw from town funds. Keep a buffer in the bank rather than spending the full balance on expansion.
  • /town bankhistory shows recent movements. Withdrawals are controlled by town permissions; being a resident does not automatically grant withdrawal access.

Daily upkeep

  • Town upkeep is $5 per claimed chunk each day, with a $50 minimum, plus $25 per outpost. A town with 16 chunks and no outposts therefore needs $80 daily.
  • Nations also have upkeep: $200 per member town each day. A mayor should check nation taxes before joining.
  • Use /towny prices and town/nation status to check current costs. Outposts and expansion add ongoing costs as well as initial fees.

Resident and plot taxes

  • Mayors can set resident taxes and plot-type taxes. Check the town’s current policy before accepting an invitation or buying a plot.
  • Fixed resident tax is capped at $100 daily. Percentage resident tax is capped at 5%, with a $250 maximum charge. Plot tax is capped at $25.
  • Town settings in /townmenu show the controls available to your role. A personal balance does not automatically fund the town bank.
