Towny / Start here

Your first day

Find a home, protect it, and start earning.

A quick start

  • Join play.toastycraft.com and choose Towny in the lobby. Java and Bedrock players can play together; Bedrock uses port 19132.
  • Open /menu to browse the server. Use /townmenu for town controls and /towndirectory to find towns and residents.
  • Browse /town list to find a town. Join an open town with /town join <name>, or accept an invitation. Ask the mayor where you can build.
  • To start your own town, save $3,000, find an available location, and use /town new <name>. Set /sethome base and keep money in the town bank for upkeep.
  • Open /tiers and claim the free first tier. Join jobs, level skills and work toward the next one.

Before heading out

  • Accept the server resource pack to see custom items, furniture and menus correctly.
  • New players start with $500 and up to 3 homes. Towny protects land in 16×16 chunks; golden-shovel claims and hourly claim blocks are not used here.
  • Read /rules. Griefing and stealing are against the rules, even when a build is not claimed.
  • Use the workshop guide to get started with Slimefun recipes and machines.

Handy places

  • Use /warps to visit the crates, fisherman, furniture, towns, jobs and enchanter.
  • Keep inventory is enabled in the Overworld, Nether, End and resource world. Dungeon worlds are excluded.
  • Use /resource to gather materials. Everything left in that world is removed at its monthly reset; build your permanent base in claimed town land.
