Towns & claiming

Join a town, claim chunks and protect your community’s builds.

Find or create a town

  • /townmenu groups town controls by topic. /towndirectory helps you find towns, residents and nations. Actions depend on your role and permissions.
  • Use /town list to browse towns, or /town list by open for towns accepting residents. Use /town join <name> for an open town, or /invite accept <name> after an invitation.
  • Creating a town costs $3,000. Stand in an available location and use /town new <name>. The mayor is responsible for town funds and protection settings.

Claim land

  • Towny land is divided into 16×16 chunks. A mayor or authorized town role uses /town claim to add the current chunk. Town claim capacity grows with residents and town/nation levels.
  • Normal claim prices start at $75, increase as the town expands, and cap at $500 per chunk. Check /towny prices before spending town funds.
  • Town claims are enabled in the Overworld, Nether and End, subject to protected areas and spacing rules. Spawn, dungeons and the resetting resource world are not places for permanent town builds.
  • Use /towny map or /town here to check the surrounding land. Owning a home point does not protect the build.

Towny Claims credits

  • Use /townclaims to check earned claim credits. 100 credits add one chunk of town claim capacity. Credits stay saved until you choose to redeem them.
  • Join or create a town first, then use /townclaims redeem <claims> and review the confirmation. Contributed capacity permanently stays with that town, even if you leave.
  • Credits increase capacity; they do not claim land for you or remove normal claiming costs. Use /town claim when you are ready to expand.

Share and remove land carefully

  • Being a resident does not automatically make every plot yours. Ask the mayor for an assigned or for-sale plot, then check /plot perm and the plot guide.
  • /town unclaim removes town protection from the current chunk. /town delete removes the town and its protection. Review the location and any confirmation before using either.
  • Keep funds in the town bank for daily upkeep. Protection should not be treated as permanent storage for an abandoned town.
